Cream Crisco and sugar. Add eggs, make a paste of cocoa, red food coloring and vanilla. Blend into mixture of shortening. Add flour and buttermilk. Mix soda and vinegar together. Add this to the cake and mix well. Bake at 350 degrees for 25 minutes in 3 layer cake pans. When cool slice each layer in half (in other words have six thin layers.)
