     European Style Paprkas

Ingredients
5 large onions, chopped
4 Tbsp shortening
2 lbs beef or pork, cut into 1 inch cubes
2 Tbsp paprika
1 tsp salt
1 tsp pepper
2 cloves garlic, minced
1/4 cup flour
1 cup tomato juice
 
4 potatoes, cubed
2 cups water
1 cup red wine
1 bay leaf

Instructions
In a large skillet, saute the onions in the shortening until brown. Add meat and lightly brown. Add paprika, salt, pepper, garlic and flour, stirrin to coat everything evenly. Fry for 5 minutes. Add tomato juice, potatoes, wine, water and bay leaf. Cover and let simmer until potatoes are done.
