     GRANDMA LEHNING’S FUNNEL CAKE

Ingredients
Sift together in a separate bowl-
1 1/3 c. flour
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. soda
2 Tbs. sugar
3/4 Tbs. baking powder
 

Instructions
Beat together 1 egg and 2/3 c. milk (or more if batter is too thick). Add to above ingredients. Hold finger over bottom of a funnel. Pour part of the batter into the funnel. Remove finger and let batter drop in a spiral motion into pan filled with one inch of hot oil (375 degrees). Fry until golden brown, turning once. Remove from pan and drain on a paper towel. Sprinkle with powdered sugar and serve hot.
