     Mom's Twist Bread

Ingredients
2 eggs plus enough water to equal 1 1/2 cups
2 tsp. salt
2 tbsp. sugar
1/4 c. butter, softened
4 1/2 c. flour
2 tsp. bread machine yeast
1 egg yolk
2 tbsp. water
1 tbsp. poppy seed
 

Instructions
Layer the ingredients. First add the eggs plus the water needed to equal 1 1/2 cups. Then add salt, sugar, butter, and flour. Add the yeast to the top. Select DOUGH setting on bread machine.
Grease large cookie sheet. Place dough on lightly floured surface. Divide dough into 3 equal parts. Roll each part into 16-inch rope. Place ropes close together on cookie sheet. Braid gently and loosely. Do not stretch. Pinch ends to seal; tuck ends under braid. Cover and let rise in warm place for about 45 minutes or until double. Heat oven to 350. Mix egg yolk and water; brush over braid. Sprinkle with poppy seed. Bake 15 minutes or until golden brown.
