     Middle-Eastern Garbanzo Beans and Macaroni

Ingredients
12 oz Elbow Macaroni
1 T Extra Virgin Olive Oil
1 T butter or margarine
1 Large Onion, but into 1/4inch pieces
2 cloves garlic
1 t salt
1 t ground cumin
1 t ground coriander
1/4 t ground allspice
 
1/4 t ground black pepper
1 can (28oz) crushed tomatoes
1 can (15-19oz) Garbanzo Beans, rinsed and drained

Instructions
1. In Large saucepot, cook pasta as label directs.
2. Meanwhile, in nonstick 12-inch skillet, heat oil with butter over medium heat until hot and melted. Add onion and cook, stirring occasionally until tender and golden, about 20 minutes. Stir in garlic, salt, cumin, coriander, allspice, and pepper; cook 1 minute.
3. Add tomatoes and garbanzos to skillet; heat to boiling over medium-high heat. Reduce heat to medium-low; simmer, stirring occasionally, 5 minutes.
4. Drain pasta; return to saucepot. Toss garbanzo bean mixture with pasta; heat through.
