     Italian Meatballs

Ingredients
1 cup breadcrumbs
2 Tbsp italian seasoning
3 lbs extra lean gound beef
1 lb ground pork
2 eggs
3 Tbsp olive oil
paper towels
2 - 16oz cans stewed tomatoes
1 - 16oz can mushroom stems and pieces drained
 
1 large onion chopped
1 tsp minced garlic
1/2 tsp pepper
1/2 tsp cumin
2 tsp oregano
1 or 2 tsp cans tomato sauce

Instructions
Mix together the breadcrumbs and the italian seasonings. Add ground beef, ground pork and eggs. Mix well and form into small meatballs. Brown meeatballs in olive oil in single layer in large skillet on low to medium heat turning to brown all sides. Drain browned meatballs onpaper towels to soak up excess grease. While meatballs are draining, mix stewed tomatoes, mushrooms, onion, garlic and remaining spices in crockpot. Pleace meatballs in sauce and stir carefully to acoid tearing up the meatballs. Add tomato sauce as needed to cover meatballs. Stir carefully again. Cook on low setting of crockpot for at least 2 -4 hours.
