Finely chop red onion and cilantro in a bowl.

Cut avocados in half and remove pits. Spoon out avocado into bowl with chopped red onion.Mash well (optional: keep a few avocado chunks).

Cut lime in half and squeeze all its juice onto avocado / red onion mixture. Add tabasco sauce and salt and pepper.
|
|
|
Mix well. Pour into a container with lid (if not serving immediately) or in a wooden bowl. Add avocado pits to save freshness.

Serve with tortilla chips, pita chips, on toasted bread with cheese (for an avocado sandwich), in salads or pizza (after cooled).
