Heat oven to 400°.
Mix butter, pwd sugar, and vanilla.
Sift flour and salt together, stir into butter-sugar mixture.
Drop by teaspoon onto ungreased baking sheet.
Note- they don't spread!
Bake about 8 minutes until set but not brown.
Remove from pan. While still warm, sprinkle with a little additional pwd sugar.
Makes about 5 dozen quarter-sized cookies.
