     Keepsake Biscuits

Ingredients
1 quart milk or cream
1 1/2 cups butter or lard
2 Tablespoons white sugar
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon cream of tartar
10 cups flour
 

Instructions
Cut the butter or lard into the dry ingredients, saving about 3 cups flour. Add milk and mix into flour to make stiff dough. roll into small balls and form into biscuits. Place fairly close together and bake at 400 degrees about 20 minutes or until the bottoms are light brown. the excessive fat will make them look gummy but they will be fine.
