     Tuscan Herb Mac & Cheese

Category   Entrees - Maindishes
Sub Category   None
Servings   8
Preptime   5-10 min

Ingredients
1 box elbow macaroni/pasta
1/4 cup bread crumbs
2 garlic cloves, diced
1 jar Tuscan Herb Sauce (Barilla brand)
1 cup heavy cream
1/2 cup grated parmisan cheese
1 1/2 cups shredded Fontina cheese
2 Tablespoons olive oil, divided
1 lb ground Italian sausage

1/2 yellow onion, diced

Instructions
Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Bring a pot of water to a boil and cook the pasta for only HALF of the cooking time as instructed. Drain and toss with 1 tablespoon of olive oil & the bread crumbs. Set aside in a large mixing bowl. In a large skillet, in the remaining tablespoon of oil, saute the ground sausage, onion & garlic until sausage is no longer pink. Add the herb sauce & stir. Add the heavy cream. Bring to a simmer, stirring. Pour the sauce over the pasta, fold in the parmigiano cheese and combine. Pour the sauced pasta into a 9x13 baking dish. Top with Fontina cheese. Bake for 15-20 minutes or until bubbly and golden colored. Remove from oven and let it rest 10 minutes before serving.
If you can't find Fontina cheese, use a mild Provolone cheese or Gouda cheese.
