     Hot Water Chocolate Cake

Ingredients
2/3 cup butter
2 cups sugar
2 eggs
4 Tbsp cocoa (or 4 squares melted chocolate)
2 cups flour
2 tsp baking powder
2 tsp baking soda
2 cups boiling water
2 tsp vanilla
 
Dark Fudge Frosting- 2 cups sugar
1/2 cup cocoa
1/2 cup milk
1/4 cup plus 2 Tbsp butter
2 Tbsp karo syrup
1 tsp vanilla

Instructions
Cake- Cream butter gradually and add sugar, add eggs one at a time then add chocolate. Beat well. Combine flour, baking powder and soda. Add to cream mixture alternately with boiling water. Gently stir in vanilla and pour batter into greased and floured pan. Bake at 350 for 35 minutes and cool completely.
Frosting- Combine all ingredients except vanilla. Bring to a boil and cook 1 minute. Remove from fire and stir in vanilla. Beat to spreading consistency and spread over cake.
