Mamma Joyce's Baked Ziti

Category   Entrees - Maindishes
Sub Category   None
Preptime   About 20 minutes
Wine/Beverage
Recommendations
  Red wine I'm thinking

Ingredients
-
2 pounds ziti or any macaroni you like(I like Barilla)
-
2 jars good sauce or make your own(I like Classico)
-
3 tub of pound full fat rigutt(ricotta)
-
1 large muzzadell(mozzerella..I like Sargento or Poly-O)
-
Parsley (fresh please)
-
Garlic powder(or fresh your choice)
-
3 large eggs
-
Parmesan or any Italian other hard cheese you like
-
I get the mixed Romano and Parm -'bout half a cup

-
salt and pepper to taste
-
If you want meat I usually brown ground sausage(Italian) and ground chuck
-
Or you can make sausage links of meatballs

Instructions
Cook your ziti. Mix the rigutt.. eggs.. parsley... garlic and salt and pepper together.Add some of the grated cheese. Chop the muzzadell up into small cubes but leave about a quarter of it for the top. You can actually use two muzzadels but that gets expensive. One just doesn't quite get it. I sometimes buy an extra small bag of shredded. Drain the macaroni and pour some sauce on the bottom of your baking pan.
Add some of the macaroni and then add some the wet ingredients spotting and dotting and meat if you are using it. Keep layering that way..You can actually just mix it all together if in a rush as I usually am. I hate to cook...lol
After all layered....place the muzzadel you have saved and sliced long and thin... on top. Bake at 350 for about 45 minutes covered. Then take it out...uncover and let it cook about 10 minutes more uncovered to get a nice light brown on the cheese.
DONE!!! Mangia...Bellisimo and Bravo!!! I shall take a bow now.
Serving Suggestions
A nice salad and garlic bread.
