     Frances Woody Poundcake

1/2 lb butter
1/2 cup Crisco
2-1/2 cups sugar
3-1/2 cups cake flour
5 eggs (add one at a time)
1 cup milk
1 tsp vanilla
1 tsp baking powder
Pinch of salt

Bring eggs, shortening and milk to room temp. Grease and lightly flour tube pan. Preheat oven to 325 degrees F.
Cream butter and Crisco together until it all looks a sort of light yellow. Add sugar, a little at a time, and beat until fluffy looking. Add eggs, one at a time, and beat.
Sift the flour, baking powder and salt. Add vanilla to milk. Beginning and ending with the flour, add dry, wet, dry, wet until the flour and milk are used up, stirring each addition. Pour into prepared tube pan.
Bake in preheated oven for 1 hour.
