     STUFFED GREEN PEPPER CASSEROLE

1 LB HOT ITALIAN SAUAGE
1 T OLIVE OIL
2 LARGE GREEN PEPERS CHOPPED
1 MED ONION CHOPPED
1 - 29 OZ DICED TOMATOES
3 - 15 OZ TOMATOE SAUCE
1/4 t GARLIC POWDER
1 t SALT
1 t PEPPER
 
3 C COOKED RICE
2 C SHREDDED CHEDDAR CHEESE

Instructions
IN LARGE SKILLET OVER MEDIUM HEAT COOK SAUAGE STIR TO BREAK UP CHUNKS TILL BROWNED 4-5 MIN. WIPE SKILLET . OVER MED HEAT OIL ADD PEPPPERS AND ONION TILL JUST TENDER 10 MIN. STIR IN SAUAGE TOMATOES TOMATOE SAUCE GARLIC SALT AND PEPPER. TURN TO HIGH BRING TO BOIL REDUCE HEAT TO MED LOW SIMMMER 10 MIN STIRRING ONCE. ADD RICE.
POUR INTO 9X13 PAN PUT DISH ON FOIL LINED COOKIE SHEET. BAKE TILL BUBBLY ABOUR 39 MIN. REMOVE FROM OVEN SPRINKLE WITH CHEESE BAKE 3-5 MIN TILL CHEESE MELLTS. LET STAND 5 MIN BEFORE SERVING.
