     Apple Dumplings

Ingredients
Double crust pie crust recipe
6 apples peeled and cored
Sauce
3 cups water
2 cups white sugar
3/4 cup brown sugar
2 teas cinn.
1 teas vanilla
 
1/2 cup butter
pinch of salt

Instructions
Make pie crust. Divide into 6 equal balls. Roll each ball into an approximately 8 x 8 inch square. Place an apple on a square and bring corners up to wrap apple. At this point you can freeze by placing each wrapped apple into a cupcake paper and carefully place in Zip bag and freeze.
To bake. Make sauce. Combine all ingredients in saucepan. Bring to a boil and let boil until sugar dissolves and sauce slightly starts to thicken. Place apples into baking dish. Pour sauce over apples. Bake 1 hour at 400 degrees. Periodically spoon sauce over apples.
