Sift together flour, salt, baking soda. Set aside.
Add raisins to cream mixture plus add vanilla and stir. Add flour mixture, mix. Add nuts and stir if using.
Grease number 2 size can and fill half full. Bake 50 minutes to 1 hour at 350 degrees.
