Soak raisins in hot water.
Heat milk until lukewarm.
Dissolve ueast in a little milk.
Add flour, salt, eggs and mix in remaining milk.
Stir into a smooth batter.
Add raisins.
Let rise to double.
Heat oil to 375 in pot or deep fryer.
Spoon by tablespoon into oil.
Fry on both sides; turning when they rise to the surface.
Sprinkle with powdered sugar.
