Category   Entrees - Maindishes
Sub Category   None

Ingredients
1 pound venison round steak or frying meat
flour
Montreal steak spice or salt and pepper
chili flakes
8 oz mushrooms quartered
1 onion lg dice
2 carrots lg dice
2 stalks celery diced
1/2 a green pepper

1 lg can diced tomatoes
oil for pan frying
Brown Rice cooked

Instructions
Cut steak into thin slice or chunks. Put flour and spices into a shallow plate. Coat venison in several batches. Pan fry in batches to achieve nice colour. Place in small roasting pan or slow cooker.
Stir fry mushroom and onions in the frying pan scraping up any brown bits add to the pot of choice along with the carrots and celery and green pepper. Top with can of tomatoes.
If using a roasting pan set oven at 350 and cover roaster with lid. Stir after 2 hours and add water if needed. Continue to check adding additional liquid as needed. I usually bake for 4 hours.
In slow cooker cook for 6 to 8 hrs. Serve over rice.
