Boil sugar and water. Cool syrup until hot. Add instant coffee. When warm, add vanilla bean. Take a clean gallon jug and pour in vodka. When syrup is cool, add coffee mixture. Let set 3 weeks. Shake occasionally.
Serve with half & half or 1 shot brandy and 1 shot kahlua and enjoy.
