     Pozole

Ingredients
Bag of Maiz (or hominy in the US)
2 tsp canola oil
1 pound chicken breasts, cubed
1 cup chopped onion
2 tsp Mexican oregano
3/4 tsp salt
2 garlic cloves, minced
1 bay leaf
3 cups water
 
3 (14 oz) cans chicken broth
1 can red chilis (use about 1/3 with paste)
shredded cabbage
turnips
green onions
lime wedges
avocado
cilantro

Instructions
1. Heat oil in pan and cook onions and garlic. Saute chicken until tender. Add corn, water, broth, and seasonings. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and let simmer for one hour. Remove bay leaf.
2. Serve hot and garnish with cabbage, turnips, lime, cilantro, green onions and avocado.
