     One Pot Stew

Category   Entrees - Maindishes
Sub Category   Camping
Servings   6

Ingredients
potatoes, maybe 8 good size, cubed
carrots, a bag of fresh, cut up
onions, large onion, sliced or diced
frozen boneless skinless chicken breasts whole, or frozen hamburger patties, quartered
2 cans any kind of cream of soup (chicken, celerey, mushroom, etc)
2 soup cans of water
salt and pepper

Instructions
In a 12 inch Cast Iron Dutch Oven with a lid, place your cubed potatoes and carrots with onions in the bottom. You can add any type of vegetables to this meal at this point as well, for example, mushrooms, peppers, whatever you would like to add. Sprinkle with salt and pepper. Then dump in the soup and water, do not stir. Top with your meat choice. Put foil on top of this prior to adding the lid, so that when you check for doneness the charcoal does not get into your dinner. Takes about 35-40 minutes, depending on your heat.
We made this in Camp Palooza 2014, and it took a little longer because it was cold outside (yes, it snowed).
