     Grandma Ruby's Gingersnaps

Ingredients
3/4 cup cooking oil
1 cup white sugar
1 egg
4 Tbsp molasses
2 cups flour
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp nutmeg
1/2 tsp cloves
 
1/2 tsp ginger
2 tsp baking soda

Instructions
Cream the oil and the sugar well, then beat in the egg. Blend in the molasses.
Mix together all the dry ingredients and add to the wet mixture, mixing well.
Roll into small balls and dip in sugar. Place on an ungreased cookie sheet - do not press down with a fork, they will spread out by themselves.
Bake at 375 degrees for 12 minutes until they begin to crack. My experience is to take them out right at 12 minutes, even if they don't look done.
