     Cheese Runza

Category   Entrees - Maindishes
Sub Category   None
Servings   16
Preptime   30 min.

Ingredients
Dough:
2 c warm water
1 egg
2pkgs active dry yeast
1/4 c margarine, melted & cooled
1/2c sugar
6 1/2 c flour
1 1/2 t salt

Hamburger filling:
1 1/2 lbs hamburger
1 1/2 t salt
1/2 c chopped onion
1/2 t pepper
3 c shredded cabbage
1/2 c water
Velveeta cheese

Instructions
Mix water, yeast, sugar & salt. Stir until dissolved. Add egg and melted butter. Stir in flour. Roll dough into an oblong shape and cut into 16 squares. Drain hamburger mixture if needed. Divide between squares.
Put all 4 sides up and press together (if you want cheese Runza, then put a slice of Velveeta cheese in each prior to pulling up the sides). Place on cookie sheet with folded side down. Bake @ 400 degrees for about 10-15 min.
We sometimes use the premade frozen loves of bread in the freezer section at the store instead of making the dough. The best is Rhodes sweet dough. It is great and a lot less mess. It is not as easy to roll out though.
