6 c sugar (if cooked in water) or 4 c sugar (if cooked in cider)
2 sticks cinnamon or 1-1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
2 whole cloves or 1/2 tsp ground cloves
Instructions
Cook the apples in the cider or water until tender (not too long.
Put through a food mill or sieve.
Measure 12c apple pulp and add sugar. (6c if you cook in water, 4c if you cook in cider).
Put in roasting pan with cinnamon and cloves. Cook in the oven at 300° for 1 to 1-1/2 hours, stirring frequently. It looks waxy when it is ready.
Can as directed.
