Mix the sugar, rhubarb, orange juice, rind, flour, melted butter and yolks. If it is too runny, add some flour.
Put in unbaked crust and bake at 350° for 45-50 mn. While baking prepare the meringue. Beat 3 egg whites with 1/4 tsp cream of tartar until frothy. Gradually add 6 Tbsp sugar. Beat until thick and glossy.
Remove from oven and spread meringue on hot mixture. Be sure to get the meringue to touch the crust so it doesn't pull apart during baking.
Bake meringue in oven until brown.
