Cut shortening into flour and salt like a pie crust. Put egg yolk and enough milk in to make 2/3 c liquid. Stir well.

Roll half of the dough into a 17 x 12 rectangle. Fit into a 13 x 10-1/2 inch pan. Sprinkle with 1 c cornflakes. Then add 3 c sliced applesand 3/4 to 1 c sugar and 1 tsp cinnamon.

Roll remaining dough into another rectangle. Place on top of apples. Seal edges and cut slits on top.

|
Bake in a 375° oven for 50 minutes. When still warm, drizzle with frosting made of 1 c powdered sugar and 3-4 tsp. of milk.
