     Peach Cobbler

Ingredients
3 fresh peaches, peeled, pitted, and sliced
1 tsp. ground cinnamon
1 1/2 c white sugar
1/2 c shortening
1 c white sugar
1 1/2 c all-purpose flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c milk
 
3 tbsp. butter
2 c boiling water

Instructions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease a 7 by 11 inch baking dish.
Stir together peaches with cinnamon and 1 1/2 c sugar. Set aside.
In a medium bowl, beat shortening and 1 c sugar. Mix in flour, baking powder, and salt alternately with milk. Pour into prepared pan. Top with peach mixture. Drop butter in boiling water and pour over peaches.
Bake in the preheated oven for 40 to 45 minutes or until golden brown.
