     Apple Kuchen

Ingredients
1/2 c. butter
1 package yellow cake mix
1/2 c. flaked coconut
2 1/2 c. sliced pared baking apples
1/2 c. sugar
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 c. dairy sour cream
1 egg or 2 egg yolks
 

Instructions
Preheat oven to 350. In large bowl cut butter into cake mix with pastry blender or 2 forks. Mix in coconut. Pat mixture lightly into ungreased 13x9x2 baking pan. Bake 10 minutes. Arrange apple slices on warm crust. Mix together cinnamon and sugar. Sprinkle over apples. Blend sour cream and eggs together and drizzle over apples. (Mixture will not cover fully) Bake 25 minutes or until edges are light brown. DO NOT OVERBAKE. Serve warm.
Variations- Pear Kuchen-Substitute drained canned pears or sliced fresh pears for apples and use Devil's Food, Red Velvet or German Chocolate cake mix instead of yellow cake mix. Peach Kuchen-Substitute drained canned peaches or sliced fresh peaches for the apples and use white cake mix or sour cream white cake mix instead of yellow cake mix.
