     Mashed Potato Doughnuts

2 eggs
1 cup sugar
1 tsp nutmeg
1 cup mashed potatoes
4 cups flour
3 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1 cup sour milk (add 1 tsp vinegar to milk, let sit)
1/2 tsp baking soda
3 tblsp melted fat (crisco)
flour to dough consistency (about 3/4 cup more)

Get milk ready before starting. Cream together eggs, sugar, nutmeg, and mashed potatoes until smooth. Stir in crisco. Add 1 cup of the flour with salt, soda, and baking powder. Mix well. Then alternately add the rest of the milk and flour. Roll out to 1/2 inch thick. Cut out doughnuts. deep fry in Crisco at 360 degrees.
