6 medium potatoes, peeled cut in half, then sliced

Instructions
In medium sauce pan, cook and stir onion in margarine until brown and tender. Stir in flour, salt, and pepper. Cook over low heat, stirring constantly, until mixture is bubbly. Remove from heat.
Stir in milk and 1 1/2 cups cheese. Heat to boiling, stirring constantly. Cook 1 more minute, then remove from heat.
Place potatoes in an ungreased casserole dish and pour sauce over them. Bake, uncovered, at 375 degrees for 1 hour. Remove from oven, sprinkle with remaining cheese and a few bread crumbs. Bake an additional 15 minutes.
