     Beef Noodle Casserole

Ingredients
2 lb lean ground beef
2 cloves garlic, pressed
1 large onion, chopped fine
2 15-oz cans tomato sauce
1 Tbsp dried basil
1 8-10 oz pkg egg noodles
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1 8 oz pkg cream cheese, room temperature
1/2 cup sour cream
 
1/2 cup milk

Instructions
In a 10-12 inch skillet over medium heat, stir beef until crumbly and browned, drain. Stir in garlic, onion, basil and tomato sauce. Cover and simmer 30 minutes to blend flavors. Cook noodles in salted water for about 8 minutes, drain. Spoon meat mixture into a 13x9 casserole dish, top evenly with noodles. Sprinkle with cheddar cheese. Whip the cream cheese, sour cream, and milk, pour over noodles. Bake, covered, in a 350 F oven until heated through (about 20-30 minutes). Can be made a day ahead and chilled. If so, allow 1 hour to cook in oven.
