     Fruit Salad - Strawberry Pretzel Salad

Ingredients
CRUST
2 cups pretzels finely crushed (I like to leave a few chunks)
3/4 cup butter melted
1 TB sugar
JELLO LAYER
2 (3oz) packages strawberry jello - or 1 (6 oz) pkg
2 cups boiling water
2 (10 oz) frozen sweetened sliced strawberries or 1 (23 oz)
 
CREAM CHEESE LAYER
1 (8 oz) package cream cheese
1 cup sugar
1 (8 oz) cool whip thawed

Instructions
Preheat oven to 400 for crust. Mix together ingredients for crust and press firmly into a 9x13 glass dish. Bake for 8-10 min. Cool crust COMPLETELY before next step
NEXT...JELLO While crust is cooling mix jello & boiling water in a mixing bowl until dissolved. Stir in frozen berries and chill in fridge until jelled, but still soft.
NEXT...CREAM CHEESE While the jello is setting and crust is cooling you can make the cream cheese layer. Beat cream cheese and 1 cup of sugar until smooth. Fold in cool whip.
ASSEMBLE Remove the crust from the fridge and spread cream cheese mixture over it. Pour chilled jello mixture over cream cheese and return to fridge to chill until served.
Serving Suggestions
Great summer barbeque side. So sweet almost a dessert.
