     Candy - English Toffee

Ingredients
4 squares butter
2 Cups brown sugar
1 1/2 Cups chopped peanuts
Chocolate chips
 

Instructions
Sprinkle 1/2 the nuts evenly onto cookie sheet.
In a pot melt butter and brown sugar. Boil for 5-12 min until hardball stage (250 degrees A little of this syrup dropped into cold water will form a hard ball. If you take the ball out of the water, it won’t flatten. The ball will be hard, but you can still change its shape by squashing it)
Pour hot caramel over the nuts on the cookie sheet. You can either blot caramel to pick up excess butter, or sprinkle with nut dust to give the chocolate something to adhere to.
Immediately sprinkle with desired amount of chocolate chips. When melted spread the chocolate evenly. Let cool.
