     Ravioli Sauce

Ingredients
3 tbsp. oil
1 medium onion chopped
1 clove garlic chopped fine
1 lb. ground beef
1/2 lbs. ground pork
2-1/4 cup water
1 6 oz. can of tomato paste
1 No. 2-1/2 can italian plum tomatoes, strained
1 tsp. sweet basil
 
1 tsp. sugar
Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions
Saute onion and garlic in oil over low flame until golden brown. Add meats, stirring constantly. Add tomato paste and tomatoes. Stir together. Add water and stir until all are well blended. Add basil, salt, pepper and sugar. Simmer for 2 hours. Serve over ravioli with grated cheese, if desired.
