Cook potatoes until tender. Mash with beater. Add cream cheese and beat until smooth. Add garlic powder, onion, s/p, and mix well Cool. Put in greased casserole. Cover and put in refrigerate for 2-3 days. When ready to eat, dot with butter, sprinkle with paprika and grated cheese and bake 35-45 minutes uncovered @ 350 degrees. May warm in oven to start and then put in crockpot on low.
