     Hamburger Soup

Ingredients
1 pound hamburger
8 carrots, chopped
6 ribs celery, chopped
2 onions, chopped
2 or 3 potatoes, peeled and chopped
1/2 to 3/4 cup barley
1 bottle pizza sauce or some leftover marinara sauce
leftover gravy if you have some
10 to 12 cups water
 
3 to 4 T beef oxo
garlic powder
salt
pepper
thyme
oregano
1 can diced tomatoes

Instructions
Brown hamburger. Add onion, celery, potatoes, tomatoes, water, beef oxo, pizza sauce and gravy if you have some.
Season with about 30 shakes of salt and pepper, 8 shakes of garlic powder, 60 shakes of thyme and 40 shakes or oregano.
Add barley. Cover and simmer at least an hour or longer if you have more time.
You can also use leftover roast beef instead of hamburger if you have some on hand.
Serving Suggestions
Serve with homemade bread or Stoned Wheat crackers. Top with shredded cheese if desired.
