     Raised Buckwheat Cakes

2 cups milk
1 pkg active dry yeast
1-1/4 cups buckwheat flour
1/2 cup all purpose flour
1 tsp salt
3 Tbls molasses
1/2 tsp baking soda dissolved in 1/4 cup warm water
1 egg o 1/4 cup melted shortening

Scald, then cool to 105 - 115 degrees
Add yeast and stir until dissolved. Add next 3 ingredients and stir to a smooth batter. Cover with a cloth and place in refrigerator overnight.
In the morning, stir in last 3 ingredients. Let stand at room temperature for 30 minutes before cooking.
