Corn On The Cob Dinner For Six

Category   Entrees - Maindishes
Sub Category   None

Ingredients
50 Ears of Sweet Corn, freshly picked from the garden
Salt, to taste
Black Pepper, to taste
Butter, to taste

Instructions
In the spring, plant corn seeds in perfect, long rows that are wide enough to easily walk through. In late July, go out to the garden and pick about 50 ears of corn. Shuck corn and clean off all the silk. Bring water to a boil in a large pot and slip ears into the water. Boil 10 minutes, until corn kernels change to a less milky, opaque color. Remove ears from water, placing them on large cookie sheets. Set the table with plates and lots of napkins. Serve the corn with sticks of butter and shakers of salt and black pepper. Eat an ear from left to right; repeat. Discard empty ears on a different cookie sheet. Also, may be served with Cucumbers in Vinegar and/or Tomato Slices. Meat is completely optional. But required is Diet Pepsi over lots of ice.
It wasn't uncommon for each diner to eat up to 10 ears of corn.
