     Marble Cake

Ingredients
1/2 Cup Crisco Shortening
1 1/2 Cups Sugar
4 Eggs, separated
3 Cups Gold Medal Flour, sifted
3 Teaspoons Baking Powder
1/2 Teaspoon Salt
1 Cup Milk
3/4 Teaspoon Lemon Extract
1 Teaspoon Vanilla Extract
 
1 Square Chocolate, melted

Instructions
Cream together shortening and sugar. Add egg yolks and beat until smooth. Sift together flour, baking powder and salt.
To the wet mixture, alternately add the dry ingredients with the milk. Beat egg whites until stiff. Carefully fold into the cake batter.
Divide the batter into 2 bowls. To one bowl, add the melted chocolate and vanilla extract. To the other bowl, add the lemon extract.
Pour batter into greased 9x13 inch cake pan. Drag a knife blade through the batters to very slightly mix them.
