Cream together shortening, sugar, brown sugar, eggs, and vanilla. Stir in peanut butter. Sift flour, soda, and salt. Stir into creamed mixture. Drop by rounded teaspoons on ungreased cookie sheet. Press with back of fork to make design. Bake at 350° about 10 minutes or until light brown. 5 dozen.
