Recipe can be cut in half. Full for Christmas, half for Easter.
Cream butter and sugar
Add eggs (1 at a time)
Add remaining ingredients (use dough hook. May
have to mix the end by hand)
Divide dough and put into ziplocks.
Refrigerate overnight

Preheat oven to 375°
Flour surface well, roll and cut. only take out
small amounts of dough at a time so the dough
stays cold.
Roll and cut cookies with cookie cutters. Place on cookie sheet,
using parchment paper. Bake 8-10 minutes. Watch them!
Remove from cookie sheet onto cooling rack. Keep going.
I bake one day and ice for days after that.

Icing
Heat butter and milk on stove, remove
Add to bowl of powdered sugar
Add a couple drops of lemon extract
Food coloring as desired
Spread onto cookie, decorate immediately
Dry in single layer
Cookies can be stacked after icing is fully
dry. Cookies are best left out in the open air.
