Grease marshmallow bowl, mixing bowl and mixing hook with
This helps to keep marshmallow from sticking to bowl.
Measure all ingredients so everything is ready to add.
Put marshmallows in greased bowl and microwave for 90 seconds and
then 30 second intervals till melted and fluffy.
Add warm water and stir.
I add white gel coloring at this point even though the fondant is
white. Also add any color you are working with at this point.
Pour into mixing bowl with mixing hook.
Add 1/2 c shortening and turn mixer on low.
Add powdered sugar, I use a big spoon to minimize the mess, stop
occasionally to scrap side of bowl. Leave a little powdered sugar
left in bowl to knead fondant after mixing. When the fondant picks
up 90% of the powdered sugar it is time to transfer to kneading
Heat Wilton fondant for 30-40 seconds. I just use a plastic bowl
and add to kneaded fondant.
