     Cream of Garden Soup

Ingredients
2 quarts good chicken broth
1 quart half and half
1 cube butter
8 T. flour
1 onion
1 cup celery
1 cup carrots
1 cup broccoli
1 cup cauliflower
 
1 cup whatever other veggies you want to use up!
1 bay leaf
salt and pepper to taste (I use white pepper)
Pinch of baking soda

Instructions
Melt butter in large soup pot. Add chopped veggies an saute for about 20 minutes or till tender. Add flour, making a roux and cook for 5 minutes. Add hot chicken stock, whipping vigorously til slightly thickened and smooth. Simmer for about an hour.Heat cream. Add baking soda and hot cream to mixture, stirring gently. Season to taste.
This is a basic ream soup recipe. You can interchange all or one kind of veggie or add chicken.
