Do NOT buy the cheapo nuts; spend the money for Planters or another good brand. Layer all ingredients in the 6qt crockpot, starting with the peanuts. Turn the pot on low and cover. Cook for two hours and then stir the mixture. Cook for another 30 minutes.
Prepare a large space covered with wax paper and spoon the mixture onto the paper as thin as you can and allow to cool for about one hour. Break apart and store in an air tight container or zip lock bag.
You can make this faster by melting the chocolate chips in the microwave, see the white trash recipe, and mixing all in a large mixing bowl. The crockpot method is just so you can walk away from it but it is not needed for taste.
