     Cherry and Almond Scones

Ingredients
2 c flour
1 t cream of tarter
1/4 t salt
1 T baking soda
1/2 c ground almonds
1/3 light brown sugar
1 c dried cherries
1 c slivered almonds plus 2 T
1/2 c unsalted melted butter plus 2 T for brushing
 
1/2 t natural cherry flavoring
1/2 t almond extract
1 c heavy whipping cream
Raw sugar for sprinkling

Instructions
Combine flour, cream of tarter, salt and baking powder Preheat oven to 400 degrees Add the ground almonds, brown sugar, cherries and 1 c slivered almonds Combine melted butter, almond extracts cherry flavoring and cream Pour mixture into dry ingredients Fold together until just combined Form into two 6 inch rounds and cut into wedges Brush with butter and sprinkle with sugar Bake for 15 minutes
