     Amaretto Bread Pudding

1 loaf white bread, torn into pieces
1 qt half and half
1 1/2 cup sugar
3 eggs
2 tbsp almond extract
8 tbsp butter
1 cup powdered sugar
1 egg
4 tbsp amaretto

Place bread in bowl and pour half and half over bread. Cover bowl and let stand for 1 hour. Preheat oven to 325 and grease a 9x13 baking dish with butter.
In separate bowl, beat sugar, eggs, and almond extract. Stir into bread mixture and then spread this into buttered baking dish. Set on middle rak of oven and bake for 50 minutes until golden brown. Let cool.
For sauce- In top of double boiler, stir together butter and powdered sugar constantly until they are dissolved and mixture is very hot. Remove from heat and whisk in 1 egg until sauce is room temp then add amaretto.
To serve- Preheat broiler in oven and cut the pudding into squares. Pour sauce over pudding and place under broiler until sauce bubbles. Serve immediately!
