     Congo Bars

Ingredients
2/3 cup butter
1 pound light brown sugar
3 eggs, beaten
2 3/4 cups sifted flour
2 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup chopped nuts
1 package chocolate pieces
1 teaspoon vanilla
 

Instructions
Melt butter; add sugar and cool. Add beaten eggs and vanilla. Sift flour, baking powder, and salt; add to mixture.
Mix in nuts and chocolate pieces. Bake in greased 13x9x2-inch pan for 25-30 minutes at 350 degrees.
Cut into bars when slightly cooled.
