     Soup - Homemade Turkey Chowder

Ingredients
5-8 C turkey broth
1/2 C barley
2-3 potatoes diced
2/3 carrots diced
4 C turkey meat
4 green onions chipped
4-6 slices cooked bacon crumbled
 
1 can corn- drained
White sauce
6 TB butter - 6 TB white flour
2 C half&half

Instructions
In large pot bring broth, barley, potatoes and carrots to a boil and lower to simmer for 15-20 min til tender and barley cooked
Add turkey meat and green onions and simmer for 10 min more. While that is cooking, in a separate saucepan make the white sauce by melting the butter, stirring in the flour and then the half&half gradually until thickened.
In the large pot, add the corn to the turkey soup, and season salt and pepper to taste. Stir in the white sauce to thicken.
Serving Suggestions
Great after Thanksgiving.
