     Apple Pie

Ingredients
Pastry for 9” two-crust pie
6-8 tart apples pared and thinly sliced
1/2 cup white sugar
1/3 cup packed brown sugar
1/3 cup flour
1 tsp. Cinnamon
1/4 tsp. Kosher salt
2 Tbsp. Butter
 

Instructions
Heat oven to 425° Prepare pastry.
In a large bowl, stir together sugar, flour, cinnamon and salt; mix with apples. Spoon into a pastry lined pan; dot with butter. Cover with top pastry which has slits cut into it, seal and flute. Cover edge with 2-3 “ strips of aluminum foil to prevent excess browning; remove foil last 15 minutes of baking.
Bake 50-60 minutes, until juice is bubbling through the slits. Set timer for the lower amount, then check often.
