1 pound of flank steak. You could use a round roast and cut it up as well
2 tsp oil
1 tsp soya sauce
1 tbsp cornstarch
1/2 tsp sesame oil
2 tbsp soya sauce
2 tsp hosin sauce ( if you don't have it leave it out)
1 tsp hot water
1/8 tsp white pepper
3 tbsp cornstarch
1 tbsp ginger finely julienned (if you don't like ginger leave it out)
1/4 cup vegetable oil
mixture of greens so green peppers, broccoli, scallions
1 spanish onion ( if not using the scallions)
Instructions
Marinate the beef if you have time with 2 tsp of oil, 1 tsp of soya
sauce and 1 tbsp corn starch. Marinate for 30 minutes
Combine the sesame oil, hoisin sauce, hot water and pepper into a
small bowl. Mix well and set aside. Spread the beef out on a plate and
sprinkle the 3 tbsp of cornstarch on it. Toss to coat the beef lightly,
shaking off the excess.
heat your Wok or Deep Frying pan and spread a quarter cup of oil
around the pan. Add the beef and let the beef sear in the oil on one
died or 30seconds. then flip and cook another 30 seconds
Turn down the heat and discard all but 2 tbsp of the oil
Add the ginger and let cook for 15 seconds. take Ginger out if you
don't like to eat pieces of ginger. The flavour will still be there. Add
the scallions, the peppers and broccoli, and onions. Simmer 5-7
minutes.
NB- you can do this recipe with only scallions if you want or know
scallions. If not using scallions add the spanish onion
At the end if available at Shoaxing wine and toss
